With the second wave of COVID, A large number of people are infected daily. There are also new COVID guidelines for weddings. Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in order to combat the spread of the second wave of Covid infections, has decided to put some more restrictions on movement of individuals and groups of people within the city. If you have your wedding planned for the upcoming months and are not sure or aware of the current wedding guidelines, Let us update you about it.

Wedding Guidelines in Delhi NCR

  • Marriage allowed only at home, courts Marriage functions will not be permitted at gardens, halls, hotels or any other public places, except at homes with only 20 people. “There will be complete prohibition on organising any marriage ceremony at public places/ marriage hall/banquet hall/hotels and similar places. Marriages may however be organised in Court or at home, in which not more than 20 people will be allowed to participate,” an order issued on on Sunday by Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev read.
  • Strict restrictions on interstate travel Individuals moving in the city will have to produce a solid reason with production of soft copy of e-pass issued by the Delhi government. DJ sound, catering facilities were not be allowed at any marriage function across the city till May 17 but will be put at a little ease soon.
  • Masks for all are compulsory and would be charged a fine if not followed.
  • Owners of the marriage halls, banquet halls, hotels, DJ, sound system, tents, catering and other service providers will have to either return the advance amount paid by the customer for conducting marriage ceremony during curfew period or they will have to mutually agree to organise the marriage at a later date.

The next two-three months could be challenging, they said, adding that the situation can be kept under control if vaccination is opened up for more people and COVID-19 protocols are strictly adhered to.
